Thank you!
On October 11, over 500 people participated in the 16th annual Women's Wellness Luncheon at the Westin Seattle. Together, community members, corporate sponsors and Swedish physicians and employees helped raise a total of $282,920 to support Swedish's Cancer Research Program and its efforts to bring new and groundbreaking treatments to patients with cancer.
Swedish is proud to be one of the leading clinical research sites in the western United States, with hundreds of active, ongoing clinical trials addressing most types of cancer. This research is important, both for bringing hope to cancer patients and their families in our community and for contributing to progress in the long struggle to find better treatments for this disease.
We are grateful to Kathi Goertzen of Komo 4 News, who served as emcee, and to Susan Ershler, the main speaker who inspired us with tales of climbing Mount Everest and of overcoming medical challenges in her family. We also thank Martha Harris who shared how Swedish has made a positive impact on her life, and Dr. Philip Gold, Medical Oncologist and Director of Clinical Research at the Swedish Cancer Institute who explained why having access to clinical trials at Swedish is critically important to him as a caregiver.
Our Presenting Sponsor, Sellen Construction, is a true friend of Swedish, as is Seattle Radiologists and each of the Luncheon's sponsors, supporters and guests, all of whom helped make the event a success.
Most of all, we thank everyone who attended the Women's Wellness Luncheon. You have helped to make a difference in people's lives and contributed to bringing about a future that is free of cancer.
