Angie Stubblefield spent a lifetime in service to others when a breast cancer diagnosis changed everything. That’s when she met her Providence Swedish Cancer Institute physicians, who treated her with such dignity, respect, and skill, she chose to give back, designating a charitable bequest in her will in honor of their care.

Each year, Swedish Foundation’s Toast! brings together donors, caregivers, leaders, and friends of Providence Swedish to celebrate the extraordinary impact of philanthropy — and the people whose generosity, leadership, and commitment make that impact possible. 

Dayna Tolman credits the 121 Providence Swedish caregivers who supported her through a challenging rectal cancer diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Five years later, grateful for the compassionate, lifesaving care that gave her a second chance at life.

Amanda Williams faced a life-threatening pregnancy complication that left little hope for her baby’s survival. Thanks to the skill, compassion, and unwavering support of her Providence Swedish care team, Amanda gave birth to a healthy baby boy. 

For many patients, the nurses who answer their questions, calm their fears, and respond at critical moments are the face of their care journey. Providence Swedish nurses make a lasting difference every day through extraordinary compassion and expertise. 

Every act of generosity helps make exceptional care possible. The 2025 Gratitude Report showcases the donors, patients, caregivers, and community partners whose support is advancing innovation, expanding access to care, and creating lasting impact across Providence Swedish. 

In May 2026, Providence Swedish Cancer Institute celebrated the way Dr. Ward lived with the unveiling of the Jeffery C. Ward, M.D., Infusion Center at Swedish Edmonds. The project, which doubles the number of available infusion chairs from 19 to 38, demonstrates the immense impact donors can have on patients and their families.

Providence Swedish launched its Transgender and Gender-Diverse Hair Treatment Program in 2024 thanks to generous philanthropic support. Today, the program is changing lives.
