What's the Need
By changing the way we treat cancer, we can give more stories happy endings.

More than a third of the patients we see at the Swedish Cancer Institute are being treated for women’s cancers, such as breast, cervical, and uterine cancer — and more than half of Swedish patients dealing with cancer of all kinds are women.
By taking care of these patients in a special center devoted just to women, research studies strongly suggest we can bring even greater success to their treatment. The technology, expert staff, and navigator services you’ll find at the True Family Women’s Cancer Center don’t come without a price. In fact, we’re budgeting $10 million to open the center and cover its initial operating expenses.
While extraordinarily generous donors have already contributed more than $6 million, we need others to step forward to help make up the difference. It’s a significant amount, no question. But this is one gift that will, as the saying goes, keep on giving for years to come.

The Emotional Side of Cancer
While the emphasis at the True Family Women’s Cancer Care Center is on solving the patient’s medical problem, cancer comes with its own unique emotional side effects. That’s why a full-fledged counseling and support staff is an essential part of the center. Successfully dealing with the fears, marital stresses, financial worries, and other emotional impacts of cancer is a vital contributor to a patient’s cure.
