Employee Giving at Swedish Medical Center
"The 2008 Swedish Fund Drive was a resounding success"
Each year employees give generously to help support the patients, fellow employees and programs they work with each day. Employees give back in a variety of ways; forming teams for the Swedish SummeRun, volunteering at Celebrate Swedish, as well as participating in our annual employee campaign the Swedish Fund Drive.
The 2008 Swedish Fund Drive was a resounding success, with 830 employees from all across Swedish donating more than $240,000. About 300 new donors took part in the annual fundraising campaign.
Special employee project
The Swedish Fund Drive launched in early September, and for the first time raised money to support a specific Swedish project: the Mother Joseph Clinic. The clinic, which is located on Swedish's Cherry Hill campus, has been providing specialty medical care to low-income and underserved Seattle residents since 2002.
Funds raised will support the purchase of medical equipment, including a fluoroscope, which will allow the clinic to run more efficiently. In total, employees pledged more than $50,000 through cash and payroll deductions to directly benefit the Mother Joseph Clinic.
